Microcosmia 04 is part of my Series 1 set of paintings. This particular piece as “X” stitched into the canvas to add texture and uniqueness.

This series plays with the concept of the sublime, while offering an abstract configuration of a natural composition.

Confronting the subject with the notion of infinite size and power through the wonderment of natures lens, this composition works impart to the microcosm of mediative shapes.

The contrast of the bold shapes and dramatic colours encourages both a passive and active representation of energy within the painting.
