Artwork Description

Photograph on paper

Signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity.

This is a long exposure at night of Goðafoss in Northeastern Iceland. The curve of this waterfall gives the falls its beauty and name, waterfall of the gods. It was an eerie and cold place at night, echoing one of the mythology of the falls. The blue light ebbing from the darkness.

... In the year 999 or 1000 the lawspeaker Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði made Christianity the official religion of Iceland. According to a modern myth, it is said that upon returning from the Alþingi, Þorgeir threw his statues of the Norse gods into the waterfall.

Image comes with additional white border suitable for different types of framing and mounting. I can provide advice on framing this work to suit your home, the work itself, or your wider collection.
