Oak Valley SA-Tjuntjuntjara WA Community's are the influence for my works of art.
If there was no burning of spinifex the nicest bush food wouldn’t grow.
When our people do back burning on Country, the Tjanpi regrows with flowers for the next springtime season,
In the old days our Tjamu (grandfathers) and Kaparli (grandmothers) generation would make a shade shelter in the Kuli Waru (Summer hot weather) from Tjanpi. In the spring time many flowers grow around Tjanpi such as Cassia, paper daisies, Parakeelya, poached egg daisies, native hops and Kuru Dyarn (Sturt Desert Pea), when the evening sunsets on the Tali Tjuta (Sandhill’s) the colours shine thru bright Orange & Yellow.
When our people burn the spinifex grass before the rain comes the Tjanpi regrows fast.
