Jane has painted her mother's traditional country, and the place in which she grew up - Kunawarritji, or Well 33 on the the Canning Stock Route. Shown here are the tali (sand dunes) which dominate the landscape of the area, with the tjurrnu (soakwater) Kunawarritji in the centre. The brown circles depict the holes where the ancestral spirit dog, Kinyu lived and its pups. This painting depicts women travelling through the land looking for the food. The women would camp at each soakwater checking for food and water. The women would collect ininti seeds, kampurat (bush fruit) and itikatji seeds to make bush damper.
