' Sonia' is part of my ongoing series of visions of the feminine form in fabrics and mixed media....in this work the pink felt marker off sets the beauty of the various shimmering and textured fabrics,especially the pink hair...the reflective and multi layered fabrics look different with various lighting and angles,in daylight and at night (see details)...
I love to portray my 'dreaming women' within interiors so the figure and objects interact with some ambiguity or surrealism ..in this picture there are three ' windows'; the mirror with part reflection of the nude,the landscape at top which could be either a landscape painting or window to a view,and the silver computer screen to the right which could also be a television..
I also love the journey I'm on with the exploration of new ways with collage/mixed media..I call my particular way ' fabric layerism' .
