Acrylic on canvas, ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
Najin is one of the last two remaining Northern White Rhinos on Earth - Both are female and neither are able to breed - scientists are working to bring the species back from the brink using a surrogate but if this fails Northern Whites will be lost forever.
This piece continues the foray into patterned fabric underlays in my work. The meandering floral vines in the fabric i chose for this piece reminded me of the Versace Vanity fabric pattern with its acanthus leaf and chrysanthemum motif. Â
I use a combination of high detail in the eyes and face of the subject, which progressively diminishes into wide brush strokes and working sketch marks revealing the carefully selected botanical fabric underlay .Â
This work is stretched 100% cotton duck fabric which wraps around the edges for a neat and ready to hang finish so framing s not required, however for those seeking some extra wow factor, The artwork can be purchased framed in Black Matt float frame for an additional $190 Please ask the Bluethumb team about this add on option - The piece comes ready to hang, signed on the front and Stamped on the reverse side using my unique artists logo wax seal.
This artwork was exhibited in the highly successful 2019 showcase - "The Birdcage" Held at Revival Art Gallery In Brisbane
