This painting titled "It's messy" depicts the disorganised head space of a person with psychosis. Drawing on my interest in mental health, I hope to encourage the viewer to think about what it might be like to experience such a disturbance of thought, memory and perception, and thereby to have more capacity for empathy. As well, the mathematical symbols suggest that real genius might reside here also.
This painting is temporarily unavailable whilst it is exhibited at the Hall and Wilcox exhibition in Melbourne.
