Influence:
Prominent features of the Australian flora are adaptations to aridity and fire. These adaptations are common in species from the large and well known families Banksia, Eucalyptus and the Acacia Wattle. As much as the Protea originated from South Africa, it seems we have adopted this most majestic flower as one of our own and it too has endured our many fires throughout the country and survived. Growing Proteas actually belong to the same family of plants as Banksias, Grevilleas and Waratahs. With about 1600 species, it is a major plant group in many Southern Hemisphere floras.
This piece of art will definitely capture the attention of all who gaze upon it. This timeless flower setting will suit both traditional and contemporary environment, whether it be hung in the grand foyer of a large home or in a cosy lounge or bedroom. The “in-situs” in this gallery depict the many variations of settings this magnificent acrylic piece feels at home in.
