Ann Brown has been a resident of the Somerset Region, Queensland for the last fifteen years. Her art career began while living in Brisbane, where she studies at The Queensland College of Art, majoring in ceramics. After completing as Associate Diploma in Fine Art, she continued further studies at Kelvin Grove College of Advanced Education finalizing a Diploma in Teaching, Secondary Art.

She initially taught art as well as other subjects in secondary schools in various regional areas across Queensland and in various state and private schools in Brisbane. She worked as a primary teacher in an international school in Stockholm, Sweden. Her last teaching positions were in Laidley and Ipswich before retiring.

Apart from teaching, she has also published art work books and worked in the hospitality industry, in Aged Care. When not painting, she has been busy volunteering with various organisations and writing three unpublished crime dramas. However, her primary calling has always been teaching the visual arts, though "Crossing Over" has been her first exhibition of her own paintings. Originally exhibited November 1, 2015 and will soon be exhibited at the FishBowl Gallery, in Rockhampton from September 6 - September 30.
