This series of paintings were produced for an exhibition coinciding with the Bromeliad Society Show of 2013 in Brisbane. It was fascinating to study these amazing plants with their seemingly endless variety of shapes and colours. My viewpoint was an overhead view, focusing on the water trapped in its centre like a mandala. This piece in particular one can sense an illusion of transparency in its leaves as they reflect the light and shadows.
