Artwork Description

18 March 2017 Update: Redland City Council 'Girt by Sea' $1000 Art Acquisition Award.
Enjoying ‘sundowners’ anchored in the Canaipa Passage was a regular occurrence during my years of sailing in Moreton Bay. Calmly gazing over the changing lights reflecting on the water is a pleasure I never tire of (with or without the wine :) ). Luckily, I now live over-looking this beautiful passage and this is one of those views. When gazing on water, your eye-line is naturally tilted downwards, hence the high horizon line in this painting, where the focus is on the reflections in the water rather than the boats on the horizon.
