As summer arrives the gum leaves reflect the morning light differently, a sign that the warmer season is here and these resilient plants are prepared for the harsh dry conditions. Outside the studio I see the leaves flicker and they emit shades of deep blue and ochre, I wanted to bring this to life on the canvas in exaggerated tones and deeply textured paint application. Framed in a hand made raw Tasmanian Oak frame, this work being on the larger side will give a dramatic presence to your living space that is so iconically Australian.
