Artwork Description

This is a scene of butterflies, bugs and insects that was originally painted with acrylic on canvas. This painting explores the wonder and mystery of wings, patterns and shapes of the creatures that reside in our gardens. It is part of a series I painted reconnecting to my heart, nature and the things in life I treasure, such as collections of beautiful things.

The original artwork is titled "I'll Take You There" and was painted with acrylic on collaged vintage book pages on canvas. This painting was created by collaging a canvas with vintage book pages and then painting the image over the top with acrylic paint.  This is a technique I am very fond of as I hide secrets within the work underneath, in the text and the image itself.

The painting measures 30.5cm x 30.5cm x 4cm (12” x 12” x 1.5”).  The canvas is thick artist quality grade and has clean painted edges.  It is signed and dated with hanging attachments.  It has been sealed for protection.
