Artwork Description

This portrait came to me in my dreams.  At night I would think of this raven haired woman looking for someone, something.  Her hair is never ending as it merges with the land around her.  The dress is bright and positive, filled with flowers.  She is interacting with two peacocks as a personal reflection on my own childhood and relationships with animals.  It is titled "This Is How I Met You".

This painting was created by collaging a canvas with vintage book pages and then painting the image over the top with acrylic paint.  This is a technique I am very fond of as I hide secrets within the work underneath, in the text and the image itself.  Some of the background has gold leaf detailing as I wanted to capture the joy of the exchange.

The painting measures 76cm x 92cm x 4cm (30” x 36” x 1.5”).  The canvas is thick artist quality grade and has clean side wrap around edges.  It is signed and dated with hanging attachments.  It has been sealed for protection.
