Artwork Description

Photograph on paper

Signed on the front.

In 2018 I travelled to Fiji to explore the gruesome story of the demise of an ancestor of mine. What I found striking was the intense beauty of the botanicals and the people and their vibrancy. It was such a contrast to the story that I was researching, which meant I was juxtaposing brilliant colour with my own inner images of death and conflict. The beauty wins.
