Abstract piece of a banksia in bloom
I love to paint bold thick strokes of colour . I use the technique on some of my landscapes however I though I would apply this to my botanical range since I am a bit of a plant lover . In my studio I have this beautiful dried single banksia in a clear vase sitting next to my live plants. I've had it in there for a few years now meaning to use it for inspiration which I have done for this piece . The background of this piece is a dark grey called domino . It may look black in the photos because I just can't capture the simple vibrancy in real life.
This piece is bright, slightly textured with many bold layers taking the concept of my abstract landscapes and applying this technique to a still life .
This piece has been sealed with a triple layer of varnish ,signed with the edges painted in a warm light tone beige pigment o compliment this bold piece. Includes a certificate of authenticity. It is intialled on the front in the tinest of places and signed on the back .
Framing can be provided on request ,please contact me for a quote if you require a frame. All frames are Australian Oak floating frames in a range of tones .
