Artwork Description

Thick layers of gloss enamel over an acrylic white gold background form a rich abstracted bunch of wilting roses. A decadent composition featuring moody dark spaces and blood red, white, pink and bronze forms intended to be both threatening and beautiful. The title is taken from the 80’s band New Order’s ground breaking album, Power, corruption and Lies and is a brooding re-representation of the albums front cover, although not an actual copy. This piece is the first finished work in an expanding series of works based on my favourite album titles and song lyrics, some of which are now more relevant than ever.
