Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Each year I walk in the Kosciuszko National Park. I am inspired by its vastly different scenery from hour to hour, day to day and season to season. I enjoy the way the early morning and evening light brings the landscape and especially the rock faces alive.

The Kosciuszko Lakes are the highlights on my walks. This image shows Blue Lake, perhaps the most popular Kosciuszko Lake, reflecting the light from the sky and the distance mountain range. It is a moment where there is no wind and the surface has a mystical mirror appearance. It is Blue Lake at its most peaceful moment. The painting is a reminder and an inspiration to us to take time out from our busy lives, to be still and to reflect the nature that is around us as a calming influence on our world.
