This work is part of a series called "New Day' representing resilience and hope. There's a clear influence here from my love of 1970's textiles and the Hare Krishna smiley stickers I had plastered all over everything in the 90's! It has been painted using artist quality acrylics and is sealed with a satin varnish.
This painting is framed in a Tasmanian Oak float frame which has been sealed using an environmentally friendly, plant based oil. It is ready to unpack and hang!
Andria Beighton is a Melbourne based artist whose background in floristry is evident in her subject selection. A lifelong fascination with colours and a requirement for balance are also driving forces
in her work.
Inspired by bold vintage textiles, the graphic nature of mid century poster art and the stark forms of brutalist architecture, Andria creates bold yet harmonious work.
