I enjoy painting light in the dark. This is remebering being out of a cold clear night, seeing the enormity of space and being one with the land. This painting was inspired by two photos with permission. One from Tim Harrison that did a series of nudes at night as part of his Milkway series. The second was from Jayden Byrne that photographs male nudes.

Outback colors in imaginary landscapeThe inspiration for this artwork was color and texture. I started with color and used this as a backdrop for the landscape. A spiral pathway leading you into the painting appeared.Colour plays an important part in this imaginary outback scene. I started with burnt umber, red ochre, and yellow ochre and let my imagination do the rest. The red and yellow ochre of the outback is the setting for this imaginary scene
