Recently I visited Newcastle Foreshore and was amazed at how close to the shore the cargo ships ran. The sheer size of the vessel was impressive and seemed so close that I could have swam to it. Initially, my attention was on the birds but became intrigued at the easy acceptance they had for the passing ship and working crew.
