“Moon Lit” Acrylic on Canvas 100x100cm.
All four of us siblings had our turn at living in a mud brick ‘bedroom’ built by my dad, that led straight outside into the garden. It was the easiest room to sneak out of as a teenager. During my season in the room, I would often come back in the middle of the night, when the moon was bright. I would stop and take a moment to enjoy the beauty of mum’s garden, which took on different tones and textures in the moon lit night. It was a peaceful moment amongst the turmoil and insecurity of those teenage years.
