I am blessed to live in a suburb surrounded by huge gums. I never tire of visits from my noisy, feathery neighbours. It’s mesmerising when I’m able to get close enough to study their feathers and all the details you don’t get to see from afar. Knarly claws crossing over each other as they make a deliberately slow walk towards me along the railing. A single comical eye is fixed on me and it feels like I’m about to be told a cracking good joke. I might get to have the last laugh though, I’m the one with the cracker. This artwork has been produced with thick palette knife application in some places and light brushes in other areas. This artwork is unframed, frames depicted are for inspirational purposes only.
