Artwork Description

Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Buddha said - "If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly our whole life would change."
In other words, flowers are a miraculous part of nature, perfumed or not, its presence changes our mood, gives us hope and helps us to pay our respects. The water Lilly is an Asian icon and associated with Buddhism, wisdom and elegant beauty. I have used collages from my silkscreen series of Buddha the child, and woodcuts I did to accompany poetry. There is some paper that I bought from India. I have also torn pages from Buddhist books on the transition from one life to the next. This is (collage) another vehicle for my love of flowers. I think this piece would look good in a more contemporary setting or the mix of old and new!
