We spend our entire lives trying to discover who we really are. Of course the criteria constantly changes and so the results are always in a state of flux. So a person's identity is always changing but there are elements that remain static as in the influences from early childhood and the experiences one encounters in our life journey. How we respond to what we encounter along the way is not always predictable. So, do we really know ourselves,? I say no, just the basic outline. I have used the overlayering of my childhood in this work, with the gold from my early years growing into a girl in Thailand. Influenced by the golden Thai temples. Then when I crossed the turquoise seas and came to Australia, the palm trees morphed into gumtrees and the forests into deserts.
