Calm belongs to a series of paintings inspired by the impressionists. The mirror like qualities of the water provide us with a relaxing play of light on the water that I enjoy interpreting. I think the relaxing gold tones within the water create a sense of calmness and the abstract patterns created by the masts reflections create a constant source of interest when looking at this painting.
