Large painting in my Monopoly series.

This series is based on the classic boardgame, with some surrealist twists. The surface is built up with many layers of paint, and has an impasto texture, beneath a gloss varnish. The paintwork includes drips and spatters - an expressionistic re-imagining of the beloved original subject matter.

This particular painting incorporates lyrics from the Talking Heads song 'Psycho Killer'. I like these humourous, absurd juxtapositions between gritty words and cartoonish imagery.

Please note that the edges of the canvas are painted black, and it is ready to hang without needing to be framed.
