This painting continues my Monopoly series, but uses the imagery to comment on the current political climate of the United States.
The paint is built up in layers, with visible splashes, drips and rough overpainting. The chaos of the brushwork forms a dynamic with the hard-edged design of the original.
I have had a lot of success with this series - the energetic paintwork, the well-known pop culture designs and references, the humour and the absurd pathos combine to create works that really draw attention.
