A new painting in my Monopoly series, with painted sides, ready to hang without framing.
This particular painting is based on a section of an older board (pre 1960s), with different font, colours, and layout to the board used today.
These paintings take imagery from the classic board game and transform them with thick brush strokes and slightly surreal text and additions, taking beloved imagery and transforming it into something new. The surface is impasto, with a gloss varnish. The sides are painted black.
