Derbarlmarra is an abstract painting of the ocean between Fremantle and Rottnest. The story of the Derbarlmarra is that thousands of years ago overtook the land and separated Rottnest from the mainland. the ocean is shallow as depicted with the sand banks and because of this the different colours of greens and purples of show from the done photos.
