As I was creating and developing this 'moonscape', the Duran Duran song: "New Moon on Monday" kept playing in my head, as there is something dark and eerie about this one, though it is still beautiful and captivating. As with all my moonscapes, the surface is heavily textured reminiscent of a moonscape. Layer upon layer of acrylic paint has created a wonderful depth softened in places with drybrushing. The paint was also pulled back to reveal the intricate texture, emphasising the fascinating patterning. Silver foil leaf reflects the ambient lighting and nearby colours, changing according to the time of day much like the moon going through a phase.
The paint and silver foil leaf have been carried onto the sides, finished off with 2 coats of of protective varnish.
This unusual and unique artwork will add a sense of tranquility to any room. It has D-rings and wire on the back and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
