Artwork Description

The endangered Mallee Emu-Wrens Jerome is a relative to the more common Fairy Wren. Whilst not quite as flashy as his showoff cousins he packs just as much attitude. Unfortunately their numbers have declined recent years after fires destroyed much of their restricted areas of habitat. There is now a concerted conservation effort underway to save the species, as another bushfire could see the Jerome and his friends edge closer to extinction.

*UPDATE* 40 Mallee Emu-wrens have been release back into fire affected areas of South Australia. Fingers crossed these little guys can flourish.

$30 from the sale of this artwork will go to Birdlife Australia to help continue their invaluable conservation efforts.
