Artist Biography- Brooque Grygoruk Lightbody
Brooque’s drawing from the sub-conscience weaves emotional symbolic imagery when practising her arts. Living within the lush green landscape and deep rainforest creeks near Maleny, she cultivates an intense and complex relationship within her natural surrounds. Vivid illustrations and paintings touch on preservation of this land with psychedelic and surreal human and animal forms present. Recent works have also included commissioned realistic portraiture of people and pets. Self-taught techniques through experimentation give scope to her 30 year career working on large-scale murals, oil and acrylic painting, illustration, embroidery and sculpture.
