I visited the lakes area of Italy and was struck by the soft atmosphere and turquoise coloured lakes and quaint villages. The everchanging light became more hazy into the afternoon and the multitude of pencil pines marching up the hills gave a great sense of distance and space. Been wanting to paint it ever since my visit in 2011 and will possibly create more or commissions of different beauty spots if desired!
