Artwork Description

Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This is one of the many little streets that run through the Old Town of the historic city of Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay. The area is full of history from the times of the Spanish, Portuguese and English conquistadores; and around every corner there is a little coffee shop, a restaurant, a bar o sometimes just a quiet place to relax.
I started the painting with acrylics, then I used oils on the areas where I wanted to create some texture and I added some details in ink to give it an old look.
The canvas is 1.6 cm thick, so it can be hung as is or framed. I think it would suit a stylish living room.

View of a solitary beach from the top of a grey long downhill stairs. A few palm trees on the shoreline. Grey rocky mountaiins surround the beach. A solitary red umbrella on the edge of the water. There is a person under the umbrella and another one entering the surf. The surf is rough. Water splattering around the many rocks in the water. Large palm leaves on the right hand side of the painting. More palm leaves and little red flowers on the left hand side of the painting. Cobalt blue sky.A small cafe in a cobble stoned street in the Old Town of Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. There are several tables with chairs and red umbrellas on the side of the road. People sitting under the umbrellas enjoying drinks. The buildings are white, old colonial buildings from the time of the Spanish and the Portuguese. There is a bicycle leaning against the wall of a building on the right side of the painting. Also a blue bench. Greenery and red hibiscus flowers cascading from the buildings. Pot plants on the footpaths. Balconies on the buildings. View of main street of The Rocks in Sydney in the evening. Bright lights illuminate the buildings on both sides of the street, giving the scene a shimmering ochre colour glow. The Sydney Harbour Bridge can be seen in the background painted in shimmering white with a backdrop of a dark blue, almost black, sky. There are tables and umbrellas on the footpath, outside restaurants, with people sitting, enjoying the evening. There is a pedestrian crossing and people walking across. Beautiful Spring day on Sydney Harbour.
View of Circular Quay on Sydney Harbour from a high position. A large cruise ship docked at the Quay. People walking everywhere on the harbour foreshore.
The Sydney Harbour Bridge at the end of the foreshore.
The Sydney Opera House across the water but not far away. Boats and yachts on the water. Pink Jacaranda flowers in full bloom on the foreground.
