Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas

Signed on the front.

Billabong; vestigial water course,
keeping place of ancestral stories,
breathing life into the arid landscape.
Springs into strident life at sunset.
Noisy stillness; a harsh place to be in,
frog song, cicada sirens,
midges bite my ankles.
Insects shrill and fill my ears,
cacophony of birds settle into evening’s rest.
