I love the structure of the leaves and flowers of the Protea family. The Leucadendrons are a favourite. They last a few weeks in a vase and I see them from different viewpoints as I Move around the room. This composition is a composite of a few of the flower heads and leaves.

As I drive through Sherbrooke forest I feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful environment. It continually changes according to weather patterns and the light at different times of the day.

The colours , lines and shapes that stand out as I walk through a grassy paddock are reflected in this painting

When walking through a grassy area of the forest I am inspired to paint the basic lines shapes and movement as the wind as it ripples through the grass

When walking through the forest I am drawn to the height of the trees the shape of the tree ferns the contrasts with windfall of bark and branches and the changing colours.
