As I walk through the forest from my home I am inspired by changing shapes and colours and how they change according to the weather.  The tall eucalyptus Regnans, the mother of earth ferns, the tree ferns, grasses and occasional sighting of lyre birds and wallabyโ€™s  complete the picture. On a foggy morning I drive through Sherbrooke Forest. The ferns are bright green after fog and rain. The eucalyptus trees are fading into the fog and the atmosphere is inspiring to paint. I love the contrasts in nature created by fallen branches and leaves on water. The dappled light accentuates the shapes colours and lines which I have painted in a semi abstracted styleOn a road trip through rural NSW I was interested in the distant paddocks and fields with crops but also I found the unkept grasses and bushes beside the road of interest and have tried to replicate these in this painting and another painted round the same time. The two paintings are a memorial record of travel through farmland and native areas of nsw
