I have always loved the quote by Albert Camus "In the midst of winter I found there was, within me, an invinsible summer." For me as a child, going down to the back of the garden, while the summer stone fruit trees reached bare branches to the sky, the golden oranges, dripping with rain and luminous in a gleam of winter's light were a promise of summer 'in the midst of winter.'
