The painting by William Turner of the shipwreck of the female convict ship Amphitrite bound for Australia in 1833 out of which 136 people on board only 3 survived. Also the sinking of a refuge boat off Christmas island with the loss of 50 lives, 41 survived in the washing machine surf along the jagged cliffs.
