Artwork Description

The inspiration for this piece was the old David Jones building in Wollongong, NSW. I am fascinated by old department stores, whether they are still operating, converted for another use or sitting empty. More minimal and less abstract than my usual style, I wanted to convey the quietness of the building awaiting its fate. An overlooking street light completes the picture.

Sides are painted black. Cotton Duck Canvas with Canadian Spruce Pine. Finished with a matt varnish and signed on the back. Ready to hang with D-rings and wire.
