Acrylic on wood
Signed on the back.
I have noticed some old inner city warehouses have wonderful details that don’t seem to quite fit the initial style of the build and add so much to their character. In this painting I focused on making the windows the feature, with the eclectic stained glass colours a reflection of the building as something of work in progress against the muted brown tones. Even though I did not base this painting on any particular building, I was thinking of some of the places along the Princes Highway in Sydney, which have been demolished for the West Connex.
Sides are painted dark blue.
Finished with a matt varnish and signed on the back.
The painting is on a cradled wood panel, so it is similar to a stretched canvas in terms of its structure.
