ChKG. - bio
Chantal Kwast-Greff's paintings are profoundly unique. They are honest stories - some real, some imagined - about the beauty of nature, the resilience of human beings, and the impact of history and culture on each of us. Chantal has won a number of awards and prizes and is represented by local galleries in Australia, and overseas, such as LecLecTic Gallery and Carré d'Art in Nouméa, New Caledonia, Quédar Gallery in Strasbourg, France, Perc Tucker Regional Gallery in Townsville and The Long Gallery in Rockhampton. Some of her paintings are part of private collections in Australia, England and Scotland, Germany, France, New Caledonia, Switzerland and the USA. All paintings come signed (ChKG.) and with a Certificate of Authenticity.
ChKG. - statement
I studied Beaux Arts in France and Applied Arts in Townsville, with a special interest in the history of art, abstract expressionism, and the notions of culture, place and belonging. My years as an Associate Professor are behind me - I have enjoyed teaching Australian Literature and Arts to many in France, Australia, and New Caledonia. Now I do art full time. I paint stories of this world and other worlds, of times past and present. My paintings all have meaning and soul. They are stories of me, and you and them - peace out.
