Artwork Description

Oil on stretched canvas, ready to hang.

Signed certificate of authenticity.

This is a representation of the situation of society in Australia right now during the pandemic!
It is called Check Inn!
It is a pun on the data collection and tracing right now! It has the red upside down Anzac Flag flying in the wind on the Inn with a figurative black plague mask due to the restrictions and mask mandate now!
I had Melbourne in mind painting this after the police presence at the Anzac shrine!
It has empty streets with a few public citizens draped in black with heads down! Shadows reflecting deep inner depression!
The shops are all for lease or closed except the one on the corner in which you can’t go in!
There security cameras everywhere depicted as plague masks around the city and an old pub on the corner down the steeet! The only way out is to see the light above and forward!
