Gouache on paper

Signed on the back.

This artwork comes with an external frame

The palawa Aboriginal name for Cradle Mountain in lutruwita Tasmania is wulinantikala. The plateau as you ascend towards the peaks is a dry, harsh and beautiful landscape. The tough shrubs, boulders and highlands flowering plants are perfectly suited to this climate. As the grey fog lifts the hues emerge brighter in the landscape.

A blue canvas with various tones of ochre, brown and ultramarine blue. Two large gum tree trunks positioned in the middle, one curving off to the side the other extending off the top of the canvas. Distant white stem gum trees in the top right corner and surrounded by abstracted pattern and native grass shapes. Behind the trees bright glowing pinks, orange and maroon tones meld together
