This painting is on loose linen and will need stretching and framing.

This painting shows a part of the view on the Wolgan Valley from Donkey mountain. This area in the upper Blue Mountains just 3 hr drive from Sydney is one of the most beautiful areas around. There are very unique and impressive rock formations known as pagodas that are being lost due to exploitation of the land given for mining that is also causing contamination of the water ways which eventually flow through the Blue Mountains national park.

The painting was painted using brush and palette knife for detail and more structured paint.

Christopher Vidal is a realist artist inspired by the style and techniques of the classical realist painters such as Caravaggio and Dutch painters as Rembrandt. He is also inspired by the American painters of the Hudson River School and the Australian impressionists of the Heidelberg Art Movement.
His works of art brings together classical realism from Europe and US as well as Australian impressionism.
With his work Chris finds a connection between his love for science, environment and arts. With his work he wants to show the beauty of nature and to re-establish the connection of humanity with nature.
