One of my new works on paper, this scene is of the Sydney Circular Quay bustling cafes with the Harbour Bridge as the backdrop. My favourite scenes to paint are those with people and street scenes. They always are full of life and dynamism. The sun hitting the all too famous strip of cafe umbrellas near the harbour, provides with a great opportunity to portray the warm light and shadows that they cast. Executed with the transparent medium of watercolour, capturing the wonderful qualities of the medium.
