Walking through a forest path, I feel the tranquillity of this magical ecosystem. The towering eucalyptus trees and shrubs reach up and out of the earth. I created this artwork through layers of acrylic paint, ink and hand-painted collage paper.

This artwork is the result of my many years of observations in the bushland and forest of the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The painting prompts thoughts of the ecology and all the many ways a person can enter and become a part of a larger system of existence. I love the natural textures and tangled patterns that can be found amongst the trees and I love exploring different ways of representing it in art.
