When Least Expected was inspired by a local mountain range near where i live in the Yarra Valley.
I wanted to depict the different trees and shrubbery as it appeared to me, like a serene patchwork of foliage. The title comes from a thought i had while driving around my home area, the feeling you have when you are driving around winding roads surrounded by dense bush. And then, when you least expect it, the bush will open up and you will be given a beautiful view of the hills and mountains in the distance.
This piece was a part of my solo show, Into The Vally and is one of only three remaining paintings from the show that is still available to purchase.
