This painting was inspired by the artist's trek into the Budawangs on the NSW South Coast. The colour palette depicts the subject matter of the work - the great monolith called 'The Castle' towering above the bushwalker who experiences the sheer remoteness and seclusion of this stretch of the Australian wilderness.
